Dr. Sudhir Kumar is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon and academic leader with over four decades of clinical experience. Currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopedics at the School of Medical Sciences & Research, Sharda Hospital, Greater Noida, he is a respected authority in bone and joint care.

His clinical domain encompasses primary and revision total knee and hip replacements, complex trauma reconstruction, spinal disorder management, allogenic bone banking, and bone tissue repair and regeneration.

Education & British Training

Dr. Kumar completed his MBBS (1972) and MS in Orthopedics (1976) at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. He pursued higher surgical training in the United Kingdom, earning his MCh in Orthopedics from the University of Liverpool in 1985.

Over his multi-decade career, he has held academic and teaching assignments across institutions in the UK, Malaysia, Nepal, and India.

Academic Leadership & Organizational Impact

Dr. Kumar served for years as Professor and Head of Orthopedics at University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) and GTB Hospital, New Delhi, training generations of orthopedic residents. He held key administrative positions as Secretary and Vice President of the Delhi Orthopedic Association and served as Editor of the Indian Journal of Orthopedics.

With over 70 indexed research publications, he is a regular orator at national orthopedic forums and holds memberships in the Indian Orthopaedic Association, World Orthopaedic Concern, and the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT).
