Prof. (Dr.) Atul Sharma is an eminent medical oncologist with over three and a half decades of clinical, academic, and research achievements. Serving as Vice Chairman of Medical Oncology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, he is an expert in managing complex solid tumors (gastrointestinal, lung, breast, and genitourinary cancers) and hematologic malignancies.

Dr. Sharma is internationally recognized for integrating precision medicine, molecular profiling, targeted therapy, and immune checkpoint inhibitors into tailored cancer care plans.

Education & AIIMS Leadership

Dr. Sharma completed his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine at Dr. S.N. Medical College, Jodhpur. He earned his DM in Medical Oncology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Dr. Sharma dedicated over 20 years to AIIMS, culminating in his tenure as Professor and Head of the Department of Medical Oncology, where he directed national cancer treatment guidelines and mentored generations of oncologists.

Research & Global Honors

With over 350 peer-reviewed research publications, Dr. Sharma is a primary authority in rare, hereditary, and refractory cancers, particularly gallbladder cancer. He is the recipient of prestigious awards, including the ASCO IDEA Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the ISMPO Oration Award, and the AIIMS Oncology Research First Prize for clinical trials in advanced cancers.
