Dr. Muthu Jothi is a prominent pediatric cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon with over 31 years of specialized practice. Serving as Director of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Max Healthcare and Senior Consultant at Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Jothi has performed over 15,000 pediatric cardiac procedures.

His clinical expertise includes neonatal repairs for complex congenital heart defects, arterial switch operations, ASD/VSD closures, valve repairs, and mechanical circulatory support (ECMO/LVAD) for pediatric heart failure.

Education & UK Training

Dr. Jothi completed his MBBS and MCh in Cardiac Surgery at Madras Medical College, Chennai. He earned his MS in General Surgery from PGIMER, Chandigarh.

He completed nine years of advanced pediatric heart and heart-lung transplant training in the UK at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital, London. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS).

Contributions & Legacy

Dr. Jothi played a central role in setting up the first cardiac transplant program at Madras Medical Mission. He is a gold medalist in surgical anatomy and has received numerous humanitarian awards for performing charitable heart surgeries on underprivileged children.
