Dr. Ankur Garg is Group Director and Head of Liver Transplant & GI Surgery at Paras Hospital, Gurugram, and Metro Group of Hospitals. With over 25 years of experience and 2,500+ performed liver transplants, he holds the distinction of being India's first super-specialized M.Ch surgeon in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation from ILBS, New Delhi. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (FEBS).
Dr. Ankur Garg is an internationally recognized liver transplant and hepatobiliary (HPB) surgeon. Serving as Group Director & Head of Liver Transplant & GI Surgery at Paras Hospital, Gurugram, he has led over 2,500 liver transplants and 1,500+ complex gastrointestinal surgeries.
His core clinical domains cover living and deceased donor liver transplants, ABO-incompatible transplants, pediatric liver transplants, dual-lobe transplants, combined liver-kidney transplants, and advanced cancer resections for pancreatic (Whipple's procedure) and biliary malignancies.
Dr. Garg graduated with his MBBS from GMC Aurangabad (2002) and completed his MS in General Surgery from LTMMC (Sion Hospital), Mumbai (2007). He completed his super-specialty M.Ch in HPB Surgery and Liver Transplantation from the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi (2013), training under Prof. S.K. Sarin.
He earned his Fellowship of the European Board of Surgery (FEBS) in multi-organ retrieval and liver transplantation in Vienna.
Dr. Garg has led transplant programs across premier institutions including BLK Super Speciality Hospital Delhi, Kokilaben Hospital Mumbai, Nanavati Hospital Mumbai, and Metro Group of Hospitals. He holds active memberships in ILTS, LTSI, and IHPBA.
