Dr. Vivek Vij is a pioneering liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon with over 20 years of experience. As Chairman of Liver Transplantation and HPB Sciences across Fortis Hospitals (including FMRI Gurugram and Fortis Noida), Dr. Vij has been instrumental in standardizing living-donor safety protocols in India.
His team has performed more than 4,500 liver transplants, achieving high patient survival rates and a zero-mortality donor safety record.

Dr. Vij earned his MBBS from Pune University, followed by an MS and DNB in General Surgery. He completed his MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Dr. Vij completed advanced liver transplant training via the Roche Preceptorship Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), USA.
