Dr. Rahul Bhargava is a premier clinical hematologist and bone marrow transplant specialist in India. Serving as Principal Director & Chief of Hematology and BMT at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, he brings 23+ years of specialized medical practice.
Having completed over 1,500 stem cell transplants, Dr. Bhargava treats adult blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma), severe blood disorders (aplastic anemia, sickle cell disease), and autologous stem cell applications.
Dr. Bhargava completed his MBBS and MD in Medicine at Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
He obtained his DM in Clinical Hematology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
He underwent advanced post-DM fellowship training in voluntary donor and umbilical cord blood transplantation at Vancouver General Hospital, Canada.
In 2016, Dr. Bhargava became the first Indian doctor to perform and popularize stem cell transplants for multiple sclerosis.
He established the first BMT center at Medanta - The Medicity and has helped set up ten low-cost transplant centers across India.
He leads community screening initiatives aimed at building an anemia-free and thalassemia-free India.
