Overview & Expertise

Prof. Dr. Subhash Gupta is internationally recognized as a pioneer in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery and living donor liver transplantation (LDLT).

Serving as Chairman of the Centre for Liver and Biliary Sciences at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, Dr. Gupta has over 37 years of surgical experience.

He and his surgical team have performed thousands of successful liver transplants, establishing state-of-the-art organ transplant programs across India and internationally in nations such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan.

Education & Fellowships

Dr. Gupta completed both his MBBS and MS in General Surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, followed by a specialization in Surgical Gastroenterology.

He completed prestigious surgical fellowships in liver transplantation at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and St. James's University Hospital in Leeds, UK.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Awards & Achievements

Dr. Gupta has published over 100 research papers on liver diseases and transplant outcomes.

In recognition of his landmark medical achievements, he was awarded the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy Award by the Medical Council of India, the Yash Bharti Award from the UP Government, and the Vishist Chikitsa Rattan Award.

He also holds an Honorary Professorship from Apollo Health Education and Research Foundation and IPGMER Kolkata.
