His clinical expertise spans deep-seated brain tumors, skull base lesion resections, brainstem vascular malformations, cerebrovascular bypasses, cerebral aneurysms, and minimally invasive spine surgeries.

Dr. Kumar completed his MBBS (1981) and MS in General Surgery (1984) at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU). He obtained his super-specialization MCh in Neurosurgery and underwent microsurgical fellowship training at the National Neurosurgical Centre, Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

Dr. Kumar is one of the few neurosurgeons in India proficient in performing Auditory Brainstem Implantations (ABI) - a complex procedure where a bionic hearing device is implanted directly into the brainstem for patients unable to benefit from cochlear implants.
