Overview & ExpertiseDr. (Col) Kumud Rai is one of India's most senior vascular surgeons, credited with establishing modern vascular care standards in both military and civil healthcare sectors. Serving as Principal Director of Vascular Surgery across Max Healthcare hospitals, he has over 46 years of clinical excellence. His surgical practice focuses on open and endovascular aortic aneurysm repairs (EVAR), carotid surgery to prevent stroke, peripheral arterial bypasses for leg ischemia, varicose vein interventions, and complex AV fistula creations for dialysis.Education & Military ServiceDr. Rai earned his MBBS and MS in Surgery from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, graduating with gold medals in anatomy, physiology, and surgery. He completed his specialized vascular fellowship at Erasmus University Hospital in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Dr. Rai served in the Indian Armed Forces for decades, holding key administrative and medical roles, including Head of Vascular Surgery at the Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi, and Professor at AFMC.
